Abstract

This paper aims to determine the impact of psychological capital, personality traits on work commitment of Vietnamese bank employees. Descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis and regression were employed on data obtained from a survey on 307 employees working at banks in large cities such as Hanoi, Da Nang, HCMC. Results show that four psychological factors, including hope, confidence, adaptation, optimism are positively correlated with work commitment. In addition, the study also found that the big-five personality traits, namely openness, extraversion, agreeableness and . conscientiousness have a positive impact while neuroticism has a negative impact on work commitment. Some solutions are then suggested for bank managers to enhance their employees’ psychological capital, personality traits for higher work commitment.
